Conflict of Interest Policy

Purpose

Insight Professional Practice is committed to maintaining integrity, transparency, independence, and public trust.

This policy establishes procedures for identifying, disclosing, and managing conflicts of interest involving committee members, volunteers, mentors, auditors, and representatives.

 

Definition

A conflict of interest occurs where a person's personal, financial, professional, or other interests may influence, or appear to influence, their duties on behalf of the Insight Professional Practice.

Conflicts may be:

  • Actual

  • Potential

  • Perceived

 

Examples

Examples include:

  • Current or previous employment relationships.

  • Supervisory relationships.

  • Personal friendships or family relationships.

  • Financial interests.

  • Business partnerships.

  • Shared legal or regulatory matters.

  • Previous involvement in a participant's disciplinary or registration proceedings.

 

Disclosure

Participants and representatives of Insight Professional Practice must disclose conflicts of interest as soon as they become aware of them.

  • Removal from volunteer roles.

  • Further governance action as determined by Insight Professional Practice.
